School Year Monthly Saint & Virtue

Each school month, we learn about a certain saint and virtue. Please learn, discuss, and teach your child(ren) about these two very important aspects of our school. We want our students to learn how to be a saint from other saints and how to live the virtues.

Saint of the Month, St. Teresa of Avila

St. Teresa of Avila

Born in 1515 at the brink of the Reformation in Ávila, Spain. Teresa is a reformer of the Carmelite order, mystic, and doctor of the Church. She is most well known for authoring The Interior Castle. Her work has greatly influenced our contemporary understanding of contemplative prayer, what it means to have a personal relationship with God.

Her feast day is October 15th.
