8th Grade Course Description

8th grade Spanish program promotes second language learning through speaking, listening, writing and reading opportunities. The program enhances understanding of diverse Spanish-speaking cultures around the world. Students meet twice a week for 50 minutes.

Course Objectives
* Use Spanish phonetic and Spanish while language approaches
* Participate and learn Spanish language skills through a variety of games, songs, bilingual stories, cooking prayer participation in church, art projects and role-playing
* Investigate and participate in Spanish holidays such Day Of The Dead and Las Posadas
* Create Christmas piñatas for grades K-4
* practice/ create language conversations using beginning/ advanced Spanish skills
* write Spanish dictated sentences using beginning/advanced Spanish skills through role-playing, homework assignments, in-class projects, tests and quizzes
* review ar verbs / introduce new ar -er-ir verbs ( regular and irregular tenses)
* review time ( whole hour/after the hour/ before the hour )
* introduce Spanish language patterns
