Technology

 

Course Description

Sixth grade students will have technology classes in the laptop lab twice a week. Sixth grade technology is designed to teach students to utilize technology as a tool to support the curriculum and individual learning needs. Students will learn to use technology skills for study, work, and community participation in an ethical manner.

 

Course Objectives

 

The 6th Grade Technology Student will

• Learn to effectively search the internet for information

• Continue to develop Word Processing skills (Microsoft Word)

• Learn to present information with a computer slide show (Powerpoint)

• Learn to use spreadsheets (Excel)

• Create music soundtracks for various themes with Garage Band

• Learn to navigate the internet

• Use correct vocabulary/terminology

• Continue to develop keyboarding skills

• Learn ethical behavior on the internet

• Understand the dangers of the internet and develop skills/knowledge to keep themselves safe
